Are you struggling to keep up with your goals for the New Year? In this episode of the Purpose Driven Mom Show, Cara discusses how to maintain focus on goals after the initial excitement of the new year.
So many people get excited about their New Year's resolutions. Whether it’s losing weight, eating better or committing yourself to more self care, new goals and aspirations are something to look forward to. But, all that excitement can go away once January hits and everyone is back to their regular schedules.
Cara shares the 3 things that are needed to achieve your goals as the New Year begins so you don't fall behind and lose that drive. The first thing is to do less. So many moms have a lot of things on their plate. What this does is actually set you up for failure because the reality is, you are not going to get everything done. It is best to be realistic and work on a little bit each day to reach your goals.
The second thing Cara shares is being accountable to yourself in order to achieve your goals. It can be difficult at times to hold ourselves accountable. The best thing to do is find a support group to help, such as Facebook groups or even a friend who shares a similar interest or goal. This way there is a space where you are being held accountable to what you want to achieve. The third thing Cara shares is to have weekly audits and check ins. This can be done a few different ways, but checking in on Sundays is perfect since it is the end of the week. During these audits, ask yourself a few questions. Ask yourself how the goal is going, if you are still on track to achieve it and what needs to change if you are not on track or have fallen behind.
Achieving your goals is all about planning! Take a listen!
