Feel like you can never get things done because you're
constantly stopping to put out 'fires' (hopefully figurative
ones)?
One of the biggest struggles I hear with the moms I work with is
that they have the best intentions for their goals and their days
but things, that are important, pop up and they never get to what
is on their list.
Here are some tips to help if this sounds like you:
1. Decide if it's REALLY urgent. A lot of things feel urgent in the
moment but can very much get moved to even just tomorrow. I talk a
lot about thought catcher time that helps me make sure I have space
for these things that are important but not urgent (let me know if
you want the link to that episode on the podcast)
2. Build in buffer time PROACTIVELY. We know that something might
come up each day so add in 30 minutes of white space to your
schedule so you can move things around when needed.
3. At the end of the day, look at what didn't get done because you
were handling emergency tasks and ask yourself "where can I fit
this in" and "does this need to get done this week". This will
allow you to have a plan for those things without forgetting about
them completely!
We know that things come up - but when you have a plan for them,
you're more likely to not let them completely derail you!
